Jensten Group Unveils New Underwriting Business

The Jensten Group has today announced the launch of Jensten Underwriting, bringing together Policyfast, City Underwriters and Gresham Underwriting – under a single brand. The move, which follows on from the launch of Jensten London Markets and Jensten Brokers Europe earlier this year, will support continued growth for the business with its expanding product offering and focus on delivering value to brokers. Jensten Underwriting becomes one of the largest MGAs operating in the UK insurance market.

Three Respected MGAs Come Together

The launch sees the three well-known and respected MGAs, Policyfast, with specialties in e-traded solutions for property owners, liability, fleet and truck, City Underwriters, with a focus on the mid-market for property, liability, and food and hospitality, and Gresham Underwriting which underwrites both commercial and personal lines products, come together as Jensten Underwriting.

Bringing the businesses together creates a dynamic and forward-thinking MGA, which is much more than the sum of its parts. Brokers will have single access to a wide range of underwriters and solutions, enabling covers and services to flex and adapt as the needs of brokers and their clients change. In the current economic and regulatory environment, successful MGAs need scale and specialisms if they are to continue to add value to brokers and capacity providers while delivering great customer outcomes.

Jensten Underwriting is focused on being the underwriting partner of choice for brokers, with a proposition that offers automated solutions where appropriate but critically also provides access to experienced, professional, and empowered underwriters for those risks requiring individual and bespoke attention. The business is continually investing in developing market-leading products, its systems, and people, giving it a robust platform from which to target significant growth by delivering for brokers.

“We’re focused on making brokers’ lives easier”

Simon Taylor, Wholesale MD commented, “We’re focused on making brokers’ lives easier. Ultimately, we want trading with us to be easy and accessible. Across our London Market and Underwriting teams, we have a great suite of products and professionals with real expertise who want to trade. Whether it’s a straightforward e-traded product or a risk that needs to be individually underwritten, we can assist. The launch of Jensten Underwriting is the latest step in ensuring we continue to deliver real value to brokers, while meeting our own significant growth ambitions over the next few years for the Jensten Wholesale division.”

Alistair Hardie, Group CEO, commented, “The Jensten Group is committed to continually improving and expanding our underwriting proposition to our retail broking partners. The launch of Jensten Underwriting is designed to clarify and streamline our offering, making it increasingly straightforward for brokers to trade with us and benefit from our broad appetite and product suite.”
