As a fast-growing business, there are always opportunities at Jensten for people who are looking for a place where ambition and excellence thrive.

We aim to attract talented people who deliver for clients and drive our business forward. A commitment to collaboration, working closely with colleagues from across the business and fostering a team mentality are all central to the success of our connected broker model and the approach we look for when hiring. When it comes to creating a great culture we listen and then act; our People and Culture strategy is key to making Jensten a fantastic place to work, learn and grow.

Lauren Barwell, Group People Director

Amie was recently recognised as an industry Rising Star by Insurance Business Magazine due to her commitment to people and excellence in delivery. During a transformational period of growth, Jensten has welcomed in excess of 500 new joiners to the group and Amie in her role in the people team is at the forefront of welcoming them onboard.

My biggest achievement of the year has been getting up on stage and presenting at the Staff Conference. This really pushed me out of my comfort zone but it was such a rewarding experience. I also launched and ran our very first new starter induction session alongside our CEO. The sessions we’ve hosted so far have received amazing feedback.”    Amie Studholme

Amie is also an Employee Engagement Champion, a group of colleagues who are the driving force behind the Jensten Giving, and the Jensten Staff Engagement Forums.

As a growing business, we have a mix of hybrid, office and home-based roles across our broking and underwriting divisions, as well as in our central business functions.

Jensten places significant value on developing our people through our ‘grow as we grow’ approach

I started at Jensten in 2006, having worked for an insurer and a Lloyd’s broker following university. I quickly realised I wanted to grow my career in underwriting. Having started as a Commercial Account Handler, I had several roles including Senior Account Handler, Product Development Manager and am now Head of Property & Casualty Underwriting. These roles have helped me grow my underwriting skills while being able to pass that knowledge to colleagues earlier on in their underwriting career.
The business has supported me to attain my Cert CII and Dip CII qualifications, and I am currently studying for my ACII. I was selected to take part in Jensten’s inaugural Future Leaders Training course, a fantastic opportunity that has helped me develop a broad range of skills, including people management. I am now part of Springboard, Jensten’s dedicated work and personal development programme for women. Jensten provides so many learning opportunities and I’m passionate about embracing them to benefit from the personal development they bring.

Keeley Betts, Head of Property & Casualty Underwriting

Kris Barnfather spent ten years in the military as an infantry soldier, serving in the British Army. A change of career in 2008 saw him join NFU to train as a Commercial Account Handler.

Now 15 years into his career, Kris is an Account Director, having been promoted following an outstanding start to his career at Jensten Group within the Financial & Professional Risks Division. Kris has taken the opportunity to develop a Cyber specialism within the group and his progression is testament to his skill and commitment.

Kris is committed to providing clients with outstanding advice and is an industry-leading specialist, regularly partnering with insurers to offer guidance to industry peers.

Sonia joined the business from school in 2013 as a Trainee Account Handler. Since joining Jensten Sonia has had a variety of roles spanning Operations, Product Development and Underwriting.
