As a fast-growing business, there are always opportunities at Jensten for people who are looking for a place where ambition and excellence thrive.

I joined Jensten in 2024 as a HR Administrator, fresh out of the University of York with a degree in Philosophy. Looking back, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to start my career. Since then, my role has grown from day-to-day people operations to delivering people analytics and executive dashboards, supporting reward programmes, and driving system and process improvements across the people function. Along the way, I’ve built advanced Excel and Power BI skills through self-directed learning and attended industry events like the People Analytics Summit in London. My manager and team’s support and trust have been instrumental to that growth. Jensten’s entrepreneurial culture rewards boldness and skill, and gives people real opportunities to make an impact – which is what makes it such an exciting place to build a career. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and excited to keep growing with Jensten.

Rosie Shepherd

As a growing business, we have a mix of hybrid, office and home-based roles across our broking and underwriting divisions, as well as in our central business functions.

Jensten places significant value on developing our people through our ‘grow as we grow’ approach

I started at Jensten in 2006, having worked for an insurer and a Lloyd’s broker following university. I quickly realised I wanted to grow my career in underwriting. Having started as a Commercial Account Handler, I held several roles including Senior Account Handler and Product Development Manager before becoming Head of Trading, a role I have now been in for two years. Stepping into this position was an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference – shaping our trading approach while helping develop the next generation of underwriters. These roles have helped me grow my own underwriting and leadership skills while enabling me to pass that knowledge on to colleagues earlier in their careers.

The business has supported me throughout my professional development, helping me attain my Cert CII and Dip CII qualifications, and I am now studying for my ACII. I was selected to take part in Jensten’s inaugural Future Leaders Training course, which helped me develop a broad range of skills, including people management. I have also completed Springboard, Jensten’s dedicated work and personal development programme for women – a programme that has been invaluable in strengthening my confidence, leadership approach, and personal resilience. Jensten provides so many learning opportunities, and I’m passionate about embracing them to support both my own growth and the development of those coming through the business.
