Jensten Group Bolsters Executive Team

The Jensten Group has appointed Jonathan Skinner to the newly created role of Group Placement Director and Amy Smith as Group Marketing Director.

Jonathan will take up the position later this year, and will join the Jensten Group Executive Committee, which recently welcomed Amy Smith as Group Marketing Director. Amy joined Jensten Group in August and previously held similar senior marketing roles at Ed Broking and Bluefin.

Jonathan will be responsible for driving forward the acquisitive broking group’s insurer placement strategy across its retail insurance broking, Lloyd’s and London Market broking, and specialist underwriting arms. He will be focused on the development of core insurance partner relationships, facilities, and products across the group to ensure that brokers and clients continue to have access to the best insurance solutions available.

Jonathan has 17 years’ insurance market experience and joins from Pen Underwriting, the Gallagher-owned managing general agent, where he has been Capacity Director since 2016 responsible for capacity strategy and carrier management.

Previous senior management roles include head of regional development at W R Berkley and head of UK development at Lloyd’s insurer Evergreen. He also founded and sold his own MGA, AML Underwriting, and is presently a Board Director at the Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA), a role he has held since 2016.

The Jensten Group is committed to expansion through a mixture of organic growth and acquisition and presently controls in excess of £300m Gross Written Premium (GWP). It has completed the acquisitions of the Tasker Insurance Group (subject to regulatory approval), Advance, and Packetts so far this year as part of its Buy and Build strategy.

Alistair Hardie, Group Chief Executive Officer, Jensten Group, commented: “Our ability to attract senior insurance figures of Jonathan and Amy’s calibre and reputation demonstrate our commitment to growth and that our model and culture really resonate with the insurance market.

Jonathan’s experience of working both within, and with, insurance carriers will prove invaluable as we develop our proposition. His expertise will ensure that we continue to deliver for our brokers, including Coversure franchisees, and our clients while developing new opportunities. It also supports our mission of providing a compelling alternative home for entrepreneurial mid-market and specialist community brokers.”
